Hailing from Baton Rouge means you have some big shoes to fill as a rapper. Home to legends like Boosie, Webbie and Kevin Gates and more recent breakouts like YoungBoy Never Broke Again you gotta bring your A-game in the BR. Cmo Marcello ain’t scared though. He’s been feeding the streets with his distinctive rhymes and street stories and pushing his way to the top of the food chain for a minute. Today he drops another morsel in the form of “Lost Files” from his forthcoming mixtape, along with a brand new visual handcrafted for his city.
As 1 of 5 kids growing up in a place that always has an honorable mention on America’s most violent cities lists, Marcello fine-tuned his hustle at an early age. While rapping comes naturally, he knows that alone won’t put him in a position to give back to the community he loves. So he splits his time between the studio, his dedication to WAE (We All Eat), engaging with his fans on social media and staying away from negative energy. Marcello believes this passion, combined with his connection to his fans will ensure his place at the table.
“I want everyone to tune in and hear where I’m coming from.” Marcello explains. “I’m showing them how I live, and making them feel me through the microphone.”
